Lantronix xPort

Lantronix wishes to announce its intent to transition the XPort-04 to the XPort-05. The purpose of this transition is to allow us to move from a dwindling range of Ethernet MAC Addresses to a range where we can continue to service our customers into the distant future. The XPort-04 uses Ethernet MAC Addresses in the range of 00-2A-4A-XX-XX-XX, while, the XPort-05 will use the 00-80-A3-XX-XX-XX range.

Our plan is to make the XPort-05 available on January 31st, 2013 and begin transitioning customers to the XPort-05 part starting February 1st, 2013. Customers can continue to purchase the XPort-04 until April 30th, 2013. At which point they can make a last time purchase with scheduled delivery up to July 31st 2013. The XPort-04 will be discontinued on July 31st, 2013.

The XPort-05 has the same fit, form and function as the XPort-04. The only difference will be the change in Ethernet MAC Address range and an ID that indicates the part as an XPort-05.

Note that in order to support the new Ethernet MAC Address Range the XPort Firmware revision must be 6.8.0.2 or newer.
